Flower & Produce Show Reminder

Tuesday 4th August 2026
2.00 – 5.00pm in Wootton Courtenay Village Hall

We are only three weeks away from the Flower & Produce Show now and let’s face it, we’re hardly having a lush green summer, but take heart – we’re all in the same boat! So whether your tomatoes are tiny or your sweet peas are stalling, don’t let it stop you taking part. Every exhibit counts, and we want to see those show benches groaning with anything and everything your garden can produce.

Please return your cups!
A reminder that we need last year’s cups returned to the Villagers’ Stores by Saturday July 18th – that’s this coming Saturday. Cups must be cleaned before returning.

Schedules
The Schedules for this year’s Flower & Produce Show are in the village shop. Please drop in and collect one – don’t miss out.

Exhibitors’ Advice Sheets
Our advice sheet offers guidance on what the judges hope to see when they assess your entries. This is just a friendly guide, intended to help entrants – not discourage them! And with the heatwaves this summer, we aren’t expecting world-class produce. Click here to read the advice sheet. There is also a copy in the Villagers’ Stores.

Photography Topics
There’s still time to get snapping. The three photography topics are:

‘Village Life’
‘Trees’
‘Sunlight’

You can enter all three categories, but only one photo per person per category, please. The pictures should be unmounted, no bigger than A4 size. Images can be post-processed and can be black and white or colour. All pictures need to have been taken since last year’s show.

There will be a People’s Choice vote again this year. The public will vote for the winner in each category and the People’s Choice Cup will go to the overall winner.

Raffle Prizes
We need prizes for the Flower Show raffle, which is a popular and important part of the Flower Show. We would specifically like donations of foodie treats – bottles of drink (alcoholic or otherwise), chocs, biscuits, etc – and gardening-related items. If you can help with any of those, please drop your donated prize off at the Villagers’ Stores next time you’re in there.

Cakes for the Refreshments Table
If you’re willing to make a cake to grace the refreshments table, please contact Linda Stenner at whit.ps1954@gmail.com and let her know what kind of cake you will be bringing. All donated cakes very gratefully received.

My thanks again to Sarah and Mark for acting as a collection hub for exhibitors’ entries, raffle prizes, etc., and for selling the surplus fruit and veg in the shop after the Show. We couldn’t do this without you!

Good luck to everyone!
