We would like to issue a correction to the message posted a few days ago about the Asian hornet. The message stated that an Asian hornet’s nest had been located near Aisholt, on the Quantocks, but in fact it was found in Ashcott, which is still within Somerset but much further east. The original message has now been amended.
It seems the error was an honest mistake, sent from a reliable source, but we want to put the record straight so that villagers aren’t led to believe that these rather aggressive insects are on our doorstep!
