Thinking Allowed

Monday 14th September

‘Challenged by AI, what makes us human?’ is the topic for our next Thinking Allowed on Monday, 14th September. In May, Pope Leo wrote that AI highlights the question of what makes us human. AI must serve humanity: humanity should not be serving AI. What are the aspects of human being that need to be cherished and guarded in order that we can flourish? This is one of the biggest questions facing human-kind – we may not get the answer in an hour, but it’s a beginning. All are welcome.

Background notes will be posted later this week. We meet at 7pm in the Villagers’ Stores. The bar will be open from 6.30pm. Poetry, lively discussion and laughter will be provided.

For interest, and to help choose future topics, here is a list showing what Thinking Allowed has had on its agenda since 2019.
