Minehead Beach Clean Next Saturday

Saturday 19th September

Come and join Plastic Free Minehead for the Marine Conservation Society’s Great British Beach Clean!

Meet outside The Beach Hotel, TA24 5AP, at 10.00am

We’ll be doing a general beach clean and litter pick around the seafront. We’ll also be surveying a 100-metre stretch of beach which we’ve monitored over the past few years. By recording the type and amount of litter and marine debris we find, we will help the Marine Conservation Society build a valuable picture of the health of our beaches.

What to bring:

We’ll provide litter pickers and collecting sacks, but please bring some strong gloves (such as gardening gloves) and dress appropriately for the weather. We also recommend you bring a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
