Food for Thought

Here are some foods to help support and boost your immune systems:
Broccoli
Super-charged vegetable with vitamins A, C & E, and minerals as well as many other antioxidants.
Root Ginger
A strong, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory antioxidant that can help to boost your immune system.  Add it to your hot lemon detox drink, chop and put it into your soups, salads and stir fries or, if you’re game like me, chop it up and eat it raw!
Almonds / nuts
Full of vitamin E which is key to a healthy immune system, they make a moreish snack, especially roasted.
Avocados
A good source of a powerful antioxidant called glutathione.
Green Tea
Packed with flavonoids (antioxidants) and high levels of EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), another powerful antioxidant which can help to enhance the immune system.
Beetroot
They’re packed full of vitamin C, folate (AKA vitamin B9), potassium, iron and manganese.  These nutrients are needed to help support a healthy immune system.
Sunflower Seeds
Full of nutrients including phosphorous, magnesium, vitamins B6 and high levels of vitamin E (a powerful antioxidant).
