Christine Skelmersdale – Creative Gardening with Bulbs
Free admission for Gardening Club members
Non-members welcome: £3
People often think of daffodils and tulips when bulbs are mentioned. However, there are many bulbs which can provide interest beyond the spring, and when you consider that they are often sold in multiple packs for only a few pounds, they are a very economical way of buying plants. In this talk, Lady Skelmersdale will be showing us how to make the most of bulbs in our borders and pots.
Christine is the Managing Director of Broadleigh Gardens, a nursery in Bishop’s Hull (near Taunton) which specialises in smaller bulbs, woodland and foliage plants. Writing, lecturing and working on committees for the RHS, she has had an impressive career in horticulture, and in 2009 she was awarded the Victoria Medal of Honour – the highest award for services to horticulture. Known for her inspirational lecturing style, Christine is the ideal person to kindle a passion for bulbs in all of us.
