Last year, we at All Saints’ were fortunate to host Sir Andrew Burns, former British Ambassador to Israel and former UK Envoy for Post-Holocaust Issues. He shared with the audience something about his time in Israel and also talked about his connection to ‘Oasis of Peace-UK’, the Palestinian-Israeli settlement (Wahat al Salam/Neve Shalom) in Gaza of which he is a trustee.
On Thursday, 30th April, 7 for 7.30pm at the village hall, Wootton Courtenay, we are pleased to be able to welcome Samah Salaime (Co-director of Educational institutes at Wahat al Salam/Neve Shalom) and Tal Arrowsmith (Executive Director of Oasis of Peace-UK), accompanied by Sir Andrew, who will introduce the evening and briefly update the audience about regional developments since his visit here last autumn.
Samah and Tal will tell us more about life in the village in Israel where Jewish and Palestinian-Arab Israeli citizens live together in peace, harmony and mutual respect and how their experience shows a way to breaking the endless cycle of violence in the Middle East.
Free copies will be available of “Palestinian-Jewish Youth Encounters at the School for Peace”.
For more details of the Village and its educational projects, visit www.oasisofpeace.org.uk where you will also find details of how to support their work.
Everyone is cordially invited to join us for this interesting and timely presentation. A retiring collection will be in aid of Oasis for Peace-UK.
