This spring, the NHS will be offering COVID‑19 vaccines to people aged 75 and over, residents in care homes for older people, and those aged six months and over with a weakened immune system. Click here to read the advice sheet issued on the vaccination programme here.
42% of people in Somerset have already been vaccinated this spring but the virus spreads easily all year round. Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to reduce severe illness and hospitalisation. UKHSA data shows people vaccinated in spring were around 50% less likely to be admitted to hospital with COVID-19.
The NHS is encouraging all eligible people to come forward for vaccination. More information is available online here.
