Hilary and Roger Carrick are most grateful for the generous gifts thus far of bottles for the bottle stall at the Village Fête on Sunday 26th August. They would be even more grateful for still more generous gifts of bottles, especially those well worth buying a ‘good odds’ raffle ticket to win.
The Playing Field is distressingly broke, and needs funds for benches, children’s swings, etc, and a life-enhancing Boules or Pétanque court for those of us in need of more senior exercise. Since Brexit seems very close to inevitable, shall we thereafter be welcome on French Pétanque courts – and if we are, what revenge court fees will the French exact? Would it not be fun to invite the French Embassy to come and lose to Wootton Courtenay, post-Brexit?
Please deliver your bottles in further quantities, to the village shop or to Windrose (just below the Old Rectory).
