Mothering Sunday

The Church is open for business, though not business as usual, and is very much engaged with the struggle against the Coronavirus.  The church will be open daily at the usual times, but, following recommendations from the Archbishop of Canterbury, there will be no public services until further notice.  People are welcome to spend time in the church for quiet reflection and prayer, but please observe the recommendations on social distancing.

This Sunday, Mothering Sunday, has been set aside as a time at home when we give thanks for all NHS workers and pray for the health and wellbeing of our families, friends and fellow villagers.  There will be somebody doing this in church on Sunday morning at 11am.  We are not asking you to come to church at this time as this cannot be a public service, but please consider putting aside some time for giving thanks and thinking about these people.

The church bell will be rung for 5 minutes before 11am as a reminder and a call to prayer.  It would be a great act of solidarity if the community, believers and unbelievers, were to turn their thoughts in this direction at this time.
