The Big Conversation on Care
The future of adult social care is being discussed at a national level, and people in Somerset have a chance to help shape it. The Independent Commission on Adult Social Care, chaired by Baroness Casey of Blackstock, has launched the Big Conversation on Care, a national engagement exercise designed to gather views from people who draw on care and support, unpaid carers, families, care professionals and the wider public.
The Commission wants to hear a wide range of experiences and perspectives to help inform its work on the future of adult social care and what a National Care Service in England could look like. The conversation will explore important questions about who care should be for, how families are supported and how care should be funded in the future.
